The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
Foundation Names Elizabeth E. Blaylock Vice President and Director
of International Programs
PHILADELPHIA, November 6, 2007
Elizabeth E. Blaylock
has been named Vice President and Director of International Programs
at the ABIM Foundation, effective November 12. In this newly
created position, she will advance the goals and operations of
the Foundation and identify opportunities to expand existing
Foundation programs internationally. Established in 1999 as a
not-for-profit operating foundation by the American Board of
Internal Medicine (ABIM), the ABIM Foundation is dedicated to
advancing medical professionalism and physician leadership in
quality assessment and improvement.
“Elizabeth brings an impressive range of skills and experience
that will help the ABIM Foundation encourage dialogue to advance
quality initiatives both nationally and internationally, where
more and more scrutiny is being paid to these important issues,” said
Christine K. Cassel, MD, President and CEO of ABIM and the ABIM
Foundation.
Ms. Blaylock has more than 15 years experience in management
consulting and strategic relations. Most recently, she was senior
manager at Center for Applied Research, where she provided strategic
planning and organizational design services to clients in the
health care and professional services fields. Previously, as
engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, she consulted on
strategy setting and operational improvement to middle and upper
managers in the health care, financial services and telecommunications
industries.
Ms. Blaylock earned master’s degrees in international
relations and public/private management from Yale University,
and a bachelor’s degree in social studies from Harvard
University. She resides in Shutesbury, MA.
